May is Self-Awareness Month. For me, learning what truly makes me happy served as the inspiration for this collage. Affluenza or "keeping up with the Joneses" pushes so many of us to buy things that we don't even need. Money trouble is one of the leading causes of divorce, and tragically results in a rising number of suicides.

This collage series helped me react to losing my jobs, my investments, and my faith in our free market system. Living through the most recent turbulent economic wreck (from 2005 to 2009) made me feel like a crash-test dummy. I survived--bruised but intact.
